Indigo Lotus Buddhism Group Sundays 7:00 p.m. No Indigo Lotus Group on Sunday, September 5 We will meet all other Sundays Thinking globally, acting locally. Our two hour Sunday gatherings focus on Mahayana Buddhism, giving us a chance to share insightful ideas regarding advancing our goal of compassion, peace and enlightenment. We do not have a guru or priest but we learn much through writings and media from teachers such as The Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman, Thich Nhat Hanh and more. Although the group is held in a private home in Temecula and moderated by practicing Buddhist, Jenny Wright, the Indigo Lotus Buddhism group is a democratic community. We do not give “sermons” but share teachings. We use enlightenment tools such as study of the Sutras, Mindfulness (quiet) Meditation, Chanting, Sound and Guided meditation. We take field trips to Buddhist temples in the area. The group also focuses on community and service so we are involved in projects where we will be helping others. We currently provide food and clothing to homeless men, women and children in Lake Elsinore We provide dry pet food for seniors through the Mary Philips Sr. Center We are beginning a Hospice program for Riverside county. We discuss Buddhist topics, such as The Four Noble Truths, The Eight Fold Path Books are suggested to be read on one’s own time. There is a weekly topic of interest however participants are free to ask questions and make comments at anytime. There is nothing off limits as long as it is constructive.
