What Is Reiki? Who Can Learn it? Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words- Rei which means "God's wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy". It works in a very similar way as acupuncture, in that it brings the body into balance by removing blocked ‘chi’ or ‘energy’, but without the use of needles. It is non-invasive and there are no side effects. Reiki induces a natural state of relaxation. The body will heal itself, when the body is completely relaxed. You! Nirvana Reiki School Jenny Wright aka Star teaches Usui Reiki utilizing Diane Stein's "Essential Reiki" as a course book. We offer classes and attunements in one day intensives the first Saturday of every month. Reiki 1, learn history, principles, self healing, plus hands-on practice. Become a Reiki Practitioner after this intensive course! Reiki 2 will teach you to heal on Psychological and Soul levels and facilitate distance healing. Attunement and Certificates included. $85.00 per class/$150.00 if both are taken on the same day. Private Master/Teacher Attunement And Lineage $300.00 We also offer a special Reiki class for young people every month! | A Reiki treatment takes about an hour to complete. The client stays fully clothed and the practitioner places their hands on them in a specific sequence. The therapists' hands remain still during treatment and emanate heat, a calm, soothing feeling. The sensation that Reiki produces is subtle but its effect penetrates deeply, thus accelerating and assisting in the healing process. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. |
